Suicide Prevention Month: Songs to Get You Through Bad Days

Every Saturday this month, I’m posting things that help me through bad days, especially those days when I feel like giving up.

Today, it will be a song.

Well… songs.

Of course, it’s no secret that I am a big Josh Groban fan, and I’m sharing one of my favorite songs by him because there are tons of songs out there that can speak to you, but this one was the one that got me through.

And if you’re not a Josh Groban fan, I’m not forcing you to listen, but here’s the thing: The title of this song alone should help you remember that somewhere out there, no matter how alone you feel right now, someone out there loves you, and if you just take a look back, that person may have been in front of you all alone.

So whether it’s because you feel rejected, bullied, unappreciated, unwanted, or unloved, take a step back and look at the bigger picture, there is something else there that you haven’t seen because you were too focused on the bad side.

You’re never going to find your solution if you concentrate on your problem, and if you take a step back, the problems won’t go away, but maybe, just maybe, you’re going to find the one person who loves you and will make you realize there is something (or someone) in this life worth living.

No, you shouldn’t make your life be about someone, but sometimes, knowing that one person will be sad when you go? Sometimes that one person will be enough.

Don’t give up, lovelies.

You are loved.

Kisses,

PS Here are five more songs that you may want to listen to if Josh isn’t your cup of tea (Trying to be flexible, so I got them from different decades):

Beautiful – Christina Aguilera (Well, technically most of Stripped, TBH)

What a Wonderful World – Louis Armstrong

It’s My Life – Bon Jovi

I Will Survive – Gloria Gaynor

The Climb – Miley Cyrus
